Fears & Phobias
Fear is actually a useful thing. It helps to keep us safe and away from danger. But we can also develop fears and phobias which are unhelpful too.
Below are some of the common fears and phobias. If your fear isn't listed here, please get in touch to find out how therapy sessions could help you.
About Fears and Phobias
Although fear can sometimes be useful, we can also have fears or phobias which are not always helpful to us. Fears of objects or situations which, realistically, we know are unlikely to harm us, yet they cause intense feelings of fear and can often lead to a panic attack, or if left to develop, sometimes a phobia. Heights, spiders, flying, injections, visiting the dentist and confined spaces are some of the more common fears and phobias and there are many others too.
Therapy for Fears & Phobias
The most effective therapy for you depends on your individual situation. Many people have found Hypnotherapy helpful for overcoming fears and phobias and talking with someone who is impartial and non-judgmental can help you to address your fears. Working with your subconscious mind, relaxation and anxiety release techniques can be taught which will enable you to develop a new calmer way of thinking and reacting, so that you can leave your fear in the past.
Your First Session
At your first session, either at the clinic or online, we will talk about your situation in more detail, including your past experiences and goals, along with your role in the therapy process. You’ll have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and then we will move on to the therapy part of your session which may involve a combination of therapies such as Hypnotherapy, CBT and NLP combined with other talking therapies as appropriate.
